Our client is a well-established UK financial services group operating within wealth and investment management. Following a major integration in 2025, the organisation is entering a critical phase of foundation-building, with a strong focus on growth, commercial effectiveness and capability uplift across the front office.

The Head of Learning will lead the firm’s commercial learning agenda, owning a business-led strategy that directly supports growth priorities and regulatory expectations. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, working closely with a multi-site team to design, deliver and embed high-quality learning solutions. The position plays a visible role in shaping sales capability, digital fluency and business performance across the organisation.
Based in London, this role leads a team of nine across London, Liverpool and Edinburgh, with limited travel required.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the commercial learning strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and the People Strategy.
  • Lead the development of sales and business development capability, including contribution to a firm-wide learning institute and flagship growth programmes.
  • Oversee strategically critical initiatives such as commercial excellence programmes and front-office system transitions, including Salesforce adoption.
  • Build strong, consultative relationships with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into targeted, high-impact learning solutions.
  • Lead and prioritise a diverse portfolio of projects, balancing strategic initiatives with business-as-usual delivery.
  • Ensure Consumer Duty principles are embedded across all commercial learning activity, supported by robust data and reporting on impact.

Candidate profile and experience

  • Proven senior learning or L&D leadership experience within financial services; wealth or investment management experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in commercial, sales or business development learning, including large-scale programme design and delivery.
  • Experience leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams, with a collaborative and hands-on leadership style.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted internal consultant, influencing senior stakeholders and shaping learning agendas.
  • Comfortable working across both strategic and operational detail, particularly in fast-evolving or post-integration environments.
  • Familiarity with business systems training (e.g. CRM platforms such as Salesforce) and digital capability development is advantageous.
