Our client is a leading investment management firm, who are looking to hire a Senior HRBP for their Private Markets global business.
Their private markets business includes private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and alternative strategies, and is one of the organization’s most visible investment priorities, with significant backing from executive leadership.
This role will serve as the dedicated, strategic HR partner to a high‑growth private markets business that is currently integrating formerly separate investment teams. The firm seeks a seasoned HR leader with deep expertise across private markets talent strategy – particularly within private equity, private credit, real estate, and broader alternative asset management.
Acting as a standalone HRBP for the platform, this individual will partner closely with senior investment leadership to define the people agenda, drive organisational clarity, and shape the emerging identity of the consolidated business. A key mandate will be building cohesion, alignment, and a unified culture across teams with historically distinct operating models.
The role reports into the global Head of HR Business Partners and operates within a large, matrixed HR organization, requiring someone who can balance entrepreneurial, high‑touch partnership with strong governance and process discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HRBP and strategic advisor to senior leaders within the private markets business.
- Shape and execute the end‑to‑end people strategy for a newly formed, high‑growth investment platform.
- Build connection and cohesion across previously independent private markets teams.
- Advise on organisational design, senior‑level hiring, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Translate the unique commercial and talent needs of private markets into effective HR strategies within a global corporate environment.
- Partner closely with central HR centres of excellence while advocating for the platform’s distinct needs.
- Act as a cultural integrator and thought partner during an active period of growth, change, and strategic build‑out.
Candidate Profile
- Significant HRBP experience supporting private markets investment functions (private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, or alternatives).
- Deep understanding of commercial drivers, leadership models, compensation dynamics, and operating rhythms within alternative investment businesses.
- Strong track record navigating complex, matrixed global organisations.
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively while influencing across senior stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated strategic HR capability and credibility with investment leadership.
- A builder mindset – comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by the opportunity to shape a new organizational identity.
- Energetic, ambitious, and excited to contribute to one of the firm’s highest‑priority growth initiatives.
