The Head of People will design, implement and scale the People function to support rapid organisational expansion. This includes establishing core infrastructure, driving performance and talent initiatives, supporting M&A activity, and building an exceptional employee experience across a growing group of specialist businesses.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Infrastructure & Scaling
- Build scalable people processes, systems and policies aligned to a fast‑growing, multi‑site organisation.
- Establish a People function capable of supporting rapid expansion, including effective use of technology and AI‑enabled tools.
- Implement foundational frameworks across employee relations, compliance, recruitment, onboarding, capability building and engagement.
2. M&A and Integration
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on people-related aspects of M&A activity.
- Lead due diligence, integration planning and execution for acquired organisations.
- Harmonise terms, policies, governance standards and cultural norms across the group.
3. Performance & Talent
- Define group‑wide performance indicators and embed a robust performance management framework.
- Create talent development, leadership capability and succession planning strategies aligned to long‑term growth.
- Support the leadership team in identifying, assessing and developing high-potential talent.
4. Early Careers & Workforce Development
- Build an early careers strategy that strengthens future workforce capability across the group.
- Develop apprenticeship, internship and entry‑level pathways, including a flagship programme at a major operational site.
- Drive community engagement initiatives that reinforce employer brand and local impact.
5. People Data & Reporting
- Establish meaningful and reliable people metrics to support data‑driven decision-making.
- Provide clear reporting to leadership and investors on workforce trends, risks and opportunities.
- Introduce dashboards and analytics that improve visibility and strategic insight.
6. Mission, Purpose & Values
- Work with the senior team to embed the organisation’s mission and purpose through periods of change and growth.
- Strengthen organisational culture and define consistent values across newly integrated businesses.
- Position the group as an employer of choice.
