Interim Payroll Specialist (ADP IHCM)

• Contract Length: 3-6 month rolling contract
• Day Rate: £350-450 per day (Inside IR35), depending on experience
• Location: Teddington, South London (minimum four days per week in the office)

Our client is a well-established organisation operating within the real estate sector. They are seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Specialist with strong ADP IHCM expertise to join the team on an initial 3-6 month rolling contract.
This is a hands-on role that will play a critical part in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of UK payroll operations. Working closely with the Head of Payroll, you will act as the subject matter expert for ADP IHCM, helping to optimise processes, support payroll delivery and enhance system utilisation across the function.

The successful candidate will bring deep technical payroll knowledge alongside the ability to guide and train colleagues on best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end UK payrolls accurately and efficiently using ADP IHCM.
• Manage complex payroll scenarios, including multiple commission structures, pension arrangements and payroll adjustments.
• Act as the ADP IHCM subject matter expert, providing guidance, training and support to the wider payroll team.
• Partner with the Head of Payroll to identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and controls.
• Ensure payroll activities remain compliant with relevant UK legislation, regulations and internal policies.
• Support payroll-related projects and ad hoc initiatives as required by the wider finance and HR teams.

Candidate Profile and Experience

The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following:

• A minimum of five years’ experience processing UK payrolls end-to-end.
• At least three years’ experience using ADP payroll systems, with ADP IHCM experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of complex payroll environments, including commission schemes, pension administration and statutory requirements.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and provide practical solutions.
• Experience training, mentoring or supporting colleagues on payroll systems and processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and communication abilities.
• Immediate availability and willingness to work a minimum of four days per week on-site in Teddington, South London.
