Learning Lead

The Learning & Development Partner collaborates with HR teams globally and locally. You primary goal is to develop a learning and development strategy aligned with the organisation’s “People First” culture.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Designing Learning Mechanisms:

    • Works closely with HRBPs to create effective learning delivery mechanisms.
    • Ensures seamless service to clients across the Howden Group.
    • Develops internal delivery capability or partners with external suppliers.
  2. Learning Delivery Channels:

    • Accountable for suitable learning delivery channels and platforms (e.g., Workday Learning, LinkedIn Learning).
  3. Team Building and Culture:

    • Builds a high-performing, client-centric Learning & Development team.
    • Aligns with the HR Operating Model.
  4. Strategic Initiatives:

    • Leads specific, high-profile L&D initiatives.
    • Oversees a broad portfolio of learning products.
  5. Innovation and Sector Leadership:

    • Scans the internal and external landscape for innovative learning initiatives.
    • Aims to position Howden as a sector leader in career and professional development.
  6. Budget and Business Context:

    • Manages the central learning and development budget.
    • Develops team knowledge of the business environment for commercially viable solutions.

Desired Experience

Experience: An experienced learning professional with significant senior-level experience in learning and development. Mindset: Demonstrates an open and consultative mindset, quickly establishing professional capability. Custom Solutions: Emphasizes the importance of delivering customized, fit-for-purpose learning solutions. Track Record: Successfully built and established learning service offerings, including designing infrastructure (platforms, suppliers, SLAs). Strategic Implementation: Proven ability to diagnose, develop, and implement commercially-focused learning plans in complex organizations. Stakeholder Management: Strong focus on client delivery and stakeholder management. Adaptability: Comfortable shifting between big-picture thinking and detailed execution. Team Leadership: Experience in creating and managing high-performing teams, collaborating with other HR partners. Technology Knowledge: Familiar with LinkedIn Learning and Workday platforms.
